Star crossed lovers to visit Vietnam

The classic Shakespearean tragedy Romeo and Juliet will be performed in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from May 3-17.

This is part of an international cultural program, leading up to the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi in 2010.

The program is also a chance for Vietnamese audiences to enjoy art and cultural exchanges with artists from around the world.

Dan Wilder and Rachel Lynes, from the UK’s touring TNT Theatre, will take on the lead roles.

The play will be directed by the company’s founder, Paul Stebbings.

The company has performed many of Shakespeare’s play in more than 40 countries. This is the troupe’s first time in Vietnam.

The play will be performed in English, with Vietnamese subtitles.

TNT will perform on stage at Ho Chi Minh City Theatre (30 Tran Hung Dao Street, District 1) from May 5-10 and Hanoi Opera House on May 13 and 14.

Tickets cost from VND150,000 to 500,000 (US$8.60-28.60).
