Stage in the new time

Traditional stage arts are trying to seek ways to reach audiences. Many ancient scripts have been changed, given sexy scenes.

The Hanoi Cheo Theatre’s drama entitled “Victim of Injustice”, which is based on “Uc Trai’s night” by late author Luu Quang Ha, shocked the audience because the drama is about a famous case in history related to national hero Nguyen Trai but it has many “sexy” scenes.

What’s more, after watching the drama, the audience was very confused about this famous case because the director had added some new details, different from history.

When the public complained about the change, the director said he didn’t care about public opinion.

The Thang Long Audio and Visual JS Company recently introduced a drama in VCD entitled “Chi Pheo’s Dream”, based on classic works by late writer Van Cao. This work is also greatly changed and has many unnecessary sexy and semi-nude scenes.

A drama titled “On the other bank” based on the short story Cross River by reputed writer Nguyen Huy Thiep is another example of a classic work that people say has been vulgarised
