Health Ministry gives warning of toxic sausages
The Food Hygiene and Safety Agenc, under the Health Ministry, has issued a warning about Polychlorobifenyls-infected sausages of a company named Ballering.
The Agency said that according to the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), Ballering sausages were exported to many countries, including Vietnam. This kind of sausage was processed from pork originated in Ireland, which was warned by France to contain Polychlorobifenyls (equivalent to dioxin).
The agency checked the registration of Ballering sausage in Vietnam and it will ask state food import control agencies to tighten control of imported food and tell the whole food inspection network to take timely action.
The agency announced that the Month of Action for Food Hygiene and Quality will take place from April 15 to May 15, 2009.
