World’s largest coffee cup comes back for a refill
The largest coffee cup in the world, made by Bien Hoa Vinacoffee, will be on display at the second Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival from December 10-14 at the Biet Dien Museum in the Central Highlands’ city of Buon Ma Thuot.
In showing the world its largest cup of coffee, Vinacoffee wants to send a message about the quality and position of Vietnamese coffee, said Nguyen Thanh Tung, the marketing manger of Bien Hoa Vinacoffee.
While details of this latest cup are not available, Vinacoffee confirmed that this second appearance will be as impressive as the first, where the largest cup was introduced last December in HCM City’s Tao Dan Cultural Park.
Viet Nam currently holds the world record for the largest cup of coffee, with 3,613 litres of coffee served to more than 30,000 people at the same time. The cup is made of more than 6 tonnes of stainless steel, surpassing by far the last record by Duran Coffee from Panama in April 2007. The previous record belonged to the US in 1994.
With the record recognised by Guinness, the world’s largest coffee cup has travelled to many different cultural festivals in the country such as Da Lat Flower Festival and Hung King Festival since the beginning of the year.
