American singer entertains at Park Hyatt

Every evening until July 11 guests at the Park Hyatt Saigon’s Park Lounge can enjoy the romantic songs of Kelda Shulman, a pianist and songwriter from Los Angeles.

Shulman also covers songs by Elvis Presley, Stevie Wonder, Coldplay and Sarah McLachlan.

 

“I had been performing original music throughout the U.S. and Europe but had never been to Southeast Asia. So when I was contacted about playing at the Park Hyatt Saigon, it sounded very exciting. I love to learn about other cultures and the opportunity to spend three months in Vietnam was definitely intriguing. Not only am I able to do my passion while here, but I am also able to experience another part of the world, which is an amazing combination,” she said.

 

Shulman has played the Hard Rock Café in LA, the House of Blues and the Viper Room in Hollywood and in the Pacific Northwest.

 

Influenced by Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan and Fiona Apple, her unique, hypnotic songs enliven audiences and warm hearts.

 

Her first album, “Detour”, was distributed by ADA (Warner) and features Daniel Shulman (Garbage) and Andreas Straub (Run DMC).

 

Shulman also enjoys plenty of international online air time. She has written for popular American television show “Cold Case”, MTV programs “The Real World”, “Road Rules” and “Trippin’”, and for the films “The Shooter” and “Daymaker”.

 

Shulman was voted into the Hot 100 Unsigned Artists by Music Connection for two consecutive years and has a Los Angeles Music Awards nomination. She was also chosen as one of the 12 participants in the ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) Lester Sill’s Song Writing Workshop.
