North Vietnam Sightseeing Culture Tour

This 11-day trip is the perfect combination of the most important highlights in the North of Vietnam including Hanoi, the capital with tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes. You will spend a full day tour in Hanoi for its major highlights such as Ho Chi Minh mausoleum and his simple residence, the famous one-pillar pagoda and the Temple of litterature which is the first national university of Vietnam.

Another highlight is the trip to Duong Lam village. Duong Lam Village is well –known for the birthplace of the two kings Phung Hung and Ngo Quyen, the two heroes led resistance wars against China's Sung and Southern Han troops to recover national independence. After their death, the local people built temples to worship the Kings. A visit to Duong Lam village is a trip to trace back the origin of Vietnam's culture and Vietnam's traditions and a great chance to explore the special architecture through its surviving laterite brick ancient houses. Laterite and mud, the two materials that are abundant in the area, on house walls, gates, wells, temple walls, and so forth.

Mai Chau is located in Hoa Binh province, approximately 135 km from Hanoi and 60 km from Hoa Binh. From the top of Cun Mountain, one can admire the superb panorama of Mai Chau surrounded by a green valley and stilt houses. Many minorities, including the Thai ethnic group, live in Mai Chau.

The river trip in Ninh Binh is wonderful for photo hunters, especially when local people come to harvest the water rice planted along the river, or when they transplant some seedling for the next crops.
