Khmer people to celebrate New Year festival
Khmer ethnic minority people in southern Tra Vinh province are gearing up for Chol Chnam Thmay New Year festival celebrations set to begin after the year’s first harvest.
About 300,000 Khmer people are expected to celebrate the New Year festival on April 13-15.
The festival will include cultural performances and other entertainment at local pagodas.
The provincial Fatherland Front and Service for Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs will also present gifts to Khmer families and pagodas that have made significant contributions to local development.
